4 Days / 3 Nights: Private Gorilla Camping Tour

Itinerary

Day 1: Lake Mburo National Park
After Breakfast, you will be picked up from your Hotel at 0700 hrs by your safari guide and depart by road to Lake Mburo National Park (the drive will take approximately 3-4 hours). You will have a stopover to look at the Royal Drum makers, stand at the Equator for a photographic opportunity and also listen to some few interesting facts. We will continue to Lake Mburo National Park, which is an extension of the Tanzanian plains with a variety of attractions; it is dominated by extensive wetlands, rolling grassy hills, seasonal and permanent swamps, wooden savannah, and forests, which harbors a variety of plants and animal species. Dinner and Overnight Mantana tented camp.

Day 2: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After early breakfast we shall drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to the mountain gorillas! We shall arrive in Bwindi to have a late lunch. Overnight at Gorilla Resort/Mantana Tented Camp

Day 3: Bwindi - Gorilla Tracking.
Wake up early morning for breakfast to before the gorilla tracking at 8:00 am..
A reasonable degree of fitness is required as well as a sturdy pair of walking shoes, as this trek can take long hours of walking depending on their movement that day. Take with you lunch boxes and all the necessary gear to track the rare Mountain Gorilla, perhaps one of the most exciting wildlife experiences. It’s amazing to listen to them grumble to each other, and marvel at the sheer size of the dominant male; the silverback as well as watching them interact and play. Overnight at Gorilla Resort/Mantana Tented camp

Day 4: Entebbe
After a morning breakfast, we will drive back to Kampala stopping en-route for lunch arriving in the evening. On arrival in Kampala, your safari guide will transfer you to your hotel. Overnight at Imperial Botanical Hotel in Entebbe

Cost: US$ 1600 per person sharing

Price includes:
Meals and accommodation while on safari
Full time safari driver/guides with associated expenses
2 chimp permits per person
1 gorilla permit per person
Park entry fees, game drives, launch trips, applicable government taxes
4x4 wheel drive vehicle with gas
Safari can be booked privately or you can opt to join group

Excluded are:
Drinks, your bar bills, phone calls, personal insurance and any other services of a personal nature like souvenirs tips and laundry etc.

3 days / 2 Nights: Gorilla Safari Uganda to Bwindi

Itinerary

Day one: Kampala - Bwindi.
You will be picked up from your Hotel by your guide very early in the morning; you will have a short stop at the Equator for an informative talk as well as a photographic opportunity. Continue to Mbarara where were you will stop for lunch. Continue through with beautiful scenery where you can see the triangular peaks of the Virunga volcanoes of Rwanda and the Congo and terraced farming to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park home of the mountain gorilla and sleep to the sounds of the mountain rainforest. Overnight at Mantana tented Camp /Gorilla Resort

Day Two: Bwindi - Gorilla Tracking.
Wake up early morning for a hearty breakfast to give you the energy needed for gorilla tracking. Before 8:00 am report to the ranger station for a brief talk by one of the rangers as well as registration; the guides will then take you to track the gorillas through the bush pushing your way through the undergrowth and parting thick creepers. After the tracking, have your packed lunch. Return for Overnight at Mantana tented Camp /Gorilla Resort

When the gorillas are sighted, visitors will be guided to within 6 metre of them and you will be able to sit around these great apes for a whole hour gazing into their big round eyes. These giants are so powerful and can sometimes weigh up to 250kilos. A reasonable degree of fitness is required as well as a sturdy pair of walking shoes, as this trek can take from half an hour to 6 hours depending on the movement of these primates.

Day Three: Bwindi - Kampala.
After breakfast, depart Bwindi Impenetrable National park for Kampala having lunch en route and arriving at your own hotel in the evening.

End of safari.
