Chimps and Gorilla Tracking - 5 Days / 4 Nights

This is a five days trip to the Gorillas and chimps tracking areas. You will depart Kampala and Head to the Places where these apes reside and return back to Kampala where you will end your trip. You will stay in budget accommodation all through your stay. In the event of us getting other clients for the same trip, you will be able to join them or vice versa. You start with the chimpanzee tracking before you travel to Bwindi / Mghahinga for Gorillas.

Itinerary:

DAY 1: KAMPALA -KIBALE NATIONAL PARK (358 KMS).
Early in the morning after breakfast you will be picked from your hotel of residence by our tour guide then be transferred to Fort Portal with a stop over for lunch en-route. Relax at your guest house in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight Rwenzori View Guest House FB

DAY 2: KIBALE NATIONAL PARK
After Breakfast go for chimpanzee tracking. You will also see other primates including l'hoestes, red Columbus, and blue red tailed and gray cheeked mangabey. Enjoy the services of our guide who will give you detailed information on primates, forest, flora and fauna. Afternoon visit to Bigodi swamp, see other mammals and primates including the rare red Columbus monkey and the sitatunga.

Kibale is an extensive National Park, protecting a large block of rainforest that offers some excellent forest for bird watching. It harbours the greatest variety and concentration of primates found anywhere in East Africa. Superb birds and primates combined with easy access, a good infrastructure and a variety of interesting activities make this forest a worthwhile destination. Day 3: KIBALE NATIONAL PARK -BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK
Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest by driving through the 'Switzerland of Africa' area known as Kigezi Highlands with its terraced hillside and winding roads. Pass through Ishasha where you will have an opportunity to see the tree climbing lions or take the alternative route through the cultivated area. Overnight at Buhoma Community FB.

 Day 4: Gorilla Tracking - BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK
Early morning after an early breakfast,go for gorilla tracking, walking up steeply in the dense rain forest through different animals' trails allowing access to tourists. Gorilla tracking is an inspiring and wonderful adventure which one can't afford to miss. The Gorillas are and peaceful animals and it is an unforgettable experience to watch and photograph them as they interact.

Day 5: BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK-KAMPALA (527 KMS)
after breakfast, Leisurely drive back to Kampala with a stop over for lunch en-route. Stop at the Mpigi Royal Drum Makers en-route where you will be able to watch the ceremonial drums being crafted using methods passed down through the generations. There will also be time to stop at the Equator for photographs. You will arrive in Kampala in the early evening. You will be transferred to your hotel of residence for dinner and overnight.
End of service.

Gorilla tracking is dependant on the permits availability at the time of your booking. Gorilla permits in all parks are in a very high demand and we advise that you book them as early as possible.
