Impala Park is a game sanctuary and animal orphanage and home to the rare Sitatunga antelope. The Kisumu Impala Wildlife Sanctuary was opened in 1992 with the intention of protecting a herd of impala and serve as a safe grazing ground for hippopotamus from the lakes. Spread over an area of less than 1sq km, this wildlife sanctuary acts a holding point for problem animals like baboons, hyenas and leopards. You will be able to see these animals within a close range. NAH-KEN 056: Ndere Island National Park Tour Half Day
A day trip can be arranged to this Island from Kisumu city through Lwanda Kotieno via the ferry to Mbita point and then board a boat from Lake Victoria village Resort to Mfangano Island.
This is a boating tour which takes clients to Ndere Island National Park located inside Lake Victoria. Ndere Island National Park is a gazetted national park covering an area of 4.2 km2. It is an island just off the northern shore of Lake Victoria and was opened in November 1986. It is home to a variety of birds including fish eagles and a dense population of swifts. Hippo and crocodiles, including the lesser known Spotted Crocodiles, are a familiar sight. 50 impala were initially introduced to the woodland which fringes the shores. Attractions include hiking, walking, traditional fishing, boat safaris and picnics. Ndere means "meeting place" in the language of the local Luo tribe. According to the Luo folklore, Kit Mikaye, mother of the tribe, rested up near Ndere after her long journey south down the Nile valley. She found the lush shorelines so pleasing that she and her people stayed. Clients will be transported by boat from their destinations to Kiboko bay resort to board a luxury boat for this trip in the early morning. This tour ends at mid day. Alternatively, clients can reach Ndere Islands National Park through Kaloka Beach in the event that Water hyacinth blocks the course way to Ndere Island.

NAH-KEN 057: Ruma National Park Tour - Full day
A day trip can be arranged to Ruma National Park from Kisumu city
through Lwanda Kotieno via the ferry to Mbita point, and then board a
boat from Lake Victoria village Resort to Mfangano Island.
Alternatively, clients can use the Kisumu - Kendu Bay - Homabay -
Lambwe Valley - Ruma route.
Ruma
National Park, home to the rare Roan antelope, Jackson hartebeest and
the tiny Oribi antelope is located near Mbita at Lambwe valley. This
little visited park comprises 120 square kms of savannah and gently
rolling hills. This is the last refuge of the very Roan antelope, with
the world's last remaining wild population found within the boundaries
of the park. The Roan is easy to see on the wide open grasslands,
grazing freely among stands of whistling thorn acacia. Ruma is also
home to several other rare species, chiefly the Rothschild Giraffe,
Jackson's Hartebeest and the tiny Oribi antelope.

The Kisumu Museum has a variety of interesting animal exhibits, including a stuffed lion pouncing on an equally stuffed Wildebeest. There are ethnographic exhibits and a display of musical instruments. The Kisumu Museum is considered by many to be one of Kenya's finest collections, exhibiting displays on wildlife as well as native Luo culture.

NAH-KEN 059: The Kisumu Municipal Market and Kisumu Bus Park Tour - 1 Hr
The Kisumu municipal Market was established in 1935. It is a farmers' market, with over 300 stalls stocking all sorts of items including Turkana baskets, pots, fruits, cereals and the famous fish market adjacent to it. It borders the Kisumu Bus Park which is a transport hub for all travelers from the surrounding towns and villages. A visit to Kisumu city is not complete until you set your foot into this market. Adjacent to it is the curio bandas where you can buy the Kisii soap stones and other artifacts.

NAH-KEN 060: The Kit Mikaye Tour - 3 hours
According to legend, this was once the homestead of a powerful man who used to abuse and mistreats his first wife. The woman returned to haunt him after her death, eventually turning him and his property into stones. Religious groups, the sick and those who want solace after a misfortune visit the rocks hoping that their prayers will be answered. It is said the woman went up the rock where she has been weeping ever since. There are many spectacular rock formations which abound with myths and mythologies in western tourist circuit. The stones have been a source of solace for the Luo people for a long time. They believe that if any man with a problem visits the stones, his problems will be solved and his wishes answered, so long as elders sacrifice a goat at the site. In the past, only men were allowed near the rocks, but visitors are these days welcome. The site is managed by the Kit Mikaye Rock Development Group which has since built a house and a banda where visitors can get refreshments while on a tour. After the tour, you will be dropped back to your hotel or residence within Kisumu city. NAH-KEN 063: The Got Ramogi and Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Mausoleum Tour - Half Day
The Luo believe their people were born in a sacred forest hill known as
Got Ramogi in Yimbo. This area of Bondo has beaches and unique plants.
At Kang'o ka Jaramogi, there is a museum built in honor of the late
Jaramogi Oginga Odinga. His mausoleum is at this site. The tomb of his
first wife is part of the museum in which various traditional items are
displayed
