Trip highlights: Being a twelve day trip, the safari will take you through Samburu National Reserve, a unique reserve with wildlife species rarely found elsewhere such as the Reticulated Giraffe, the Maasai Mara, Kenya’s greatest wildlife reserve, and finally end up in Tsavo East and West National park, famous for the. “The man-eaters of Tsavo” You will stay in tented Camps and travel in a 4x4 tour Land cruiser.

Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival - Nairobi
Shortly upon arrival, you will be met and welcomed by your tour manager who will brief you of your safari, thereafter transfer you to Safari Park hotel for lunch and overnight stay (Assuming you will arrive with the morning flight) After lunch you will have there rest of the afternoon at leisure, where you can enjoy the hotel’s facilities; an array of African Continental, French and Italian cuisine, swimming pool, 2 squash and tennis courts, fitness Health Club which includes an aerobic studio, Jacuzzis, steam room, gymnasium and sauna, not forgetting the Cats, nightclub if you like to enjoy a night out. All meals and overnight stay at Safari Park hotel or similar

Day 2: Safari Park Hotel - Nairobi- Samburu National Park
After breakfast, depart the hotel for Samburu National Park, arriving in time for lunch. On the way you will enjoy the scenic beauty of Ngare Ndare Forest as we will enter the park through the Ndare Gate. After lunch, go for an afternoon game viewing drive. Dinner and overnight at Ashnil Samburu Camp or similar.

In addition to Kamunyak, the renowned lioness famous for adopting oryx calves, Samburu National Park boasts of some of the unique species rarely found elsewhere like the Reticulated giraffes, Grevy’s zebra, kuchi and Beisa Oryx’s, numerous species of birds also beautify the park; the unique ones being the Marabou Stork and Bateleur.

Day 3: Samburu National Park
Before dawn we head out in search of Africa’s wild cats, after breakfast spend the morning exploring the slopes of Samburu. Have lunch which will be packed, and then in the afternoon visit to Samburu villages which can be arranged with our driver guide onboard. Dinner and overnight at Ashnil Samburu Camp or similar

The Samburu People are semi-nomadic pastoralists with amazing cultures; their dressing to start with is fascinating, they dress in very traditional clothing of bright red material used like a skirt and multi-beaded necklaces, bracelets and earrings, especially when living away from the big cities. Following closely is their special relationship with cattle, sheep, camels and goats thus milk is their main course, and at times mix it with blood, however, meat is only resigned to special occasions, the Samburu, whose language is also called Samburu, are known to make soups from roots and barks and eat vegetables if they grow within their vicinity.

Day 4: Samburu National Park- Maasai Mara Game Reserve.
Pre-breakfast game viewing drive, return to the camp for breakfast, thereafter depart Samburu for Maasai Mara Game reserve, stopping for lunch in Nakuru, then proceed with the trip arriving in the afternoon then go for an afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at Big time Camp or similar

Day 5: Maasai Mara
Depart after breakfast for a full day of game viewing in Maasai Mara with picnic lunch. This will include going up to the Siana Plains which hosts plenty of plain animals. Dinner and overnight at Big time Camp or similar

The Mara reserve has a vast array of wildlife species facilitative of its diverse fauna ranging from the big five, to the crafty hyena, which may be heard laughing at night, to the Mara River abundant in crocodiles and hippos. The banks of the rivers are covered in thick forest which is gradually makes way for bush and grassland thus the excellent availability of food for the diverse wildlife.

Day 6: Maasai Mara
Today spend a full day viewing and exploring the magnificent and scenic game reserve, where you may have the chance to see all the big five in addition to the numerous bird life found in the reserve. You will then stop for an early picnic lunch and go for a visit in the Maasai villages. Dinner and overnight at Big time Camp or similar

A Maasai Homestead (enkang popularly known as the Manyattas) is made from cow dung and wooden sticks from the leleshwa plant. Women are the ones responsible for putting up these magnificent homes. However, a homestead contains several Maasai houses which are surrounded by a fence made also by branches of the leleshwa plant where the herds of goats and cows are confined in during the night hours. There are other Manyattas made far away in the wilderness during their Moran’s as they prepare their headset, the motonyik, before they return home. They regard themselves not just as residents of this area but that they are as much a part of the life of the land as the land is part of their lives.

Day 7: Maasai Mara- Nairobi.

Pre-breakfast game viewing drive, return to the Camp for breakfast thereafter depart for Nairobi with lunch en-route, you will also have a brief visit of the coffee firm. Dinner and overnight at Safari Park Hotel or similar

Day 8: Nairobi- Arusha, Tanzania.
After breakfast, depart the hotel for Arusha via a shuttle bus with packed lunch, arriving Arusha in the evening. On arrival you will be met by our tour manager who will transfer you to Karama Lodge and SPA for a briefing on your safari. Dinner and overnight at Karama Lodge and SPA

Day 9: Lemosho Glades to Mti Mkubwa Camp

After breakfast at the lodge, you will depart for your mountain climbing which will start at Londorossi Park Gate at 2200m, home to a variety of flora and fauna which you will enjoy en-route such as you head to Lemosho Glades at 200m. You will then trek to the Mkubwa camp site.
Londorossi Park is endowed with fauna such as the black and white Colobus monkeys which like chasing each other around, the blue monkey as well as beautifully laid out flora amazing to look at.
DAY 10: Mti Mkubwa Camp to Shira Camp (3847m)

After breaking camp, we begin the hike up towards Shira Camp 1. located near a stream. We head through moorland shrub taking in view of Mt Meru in the distance.

DAY 11: Shira Camp- Lava Tower (4642m) - Barranco Camp (3985m)

After breakfast, you will head to Lava Tower. You will climb from the Shira Camp up to Lava Tower where you will get nearer to the peak, then down to Barranco camp. You may experience headache or shortness of breath by the time you reach Barraco as a result of altitude. After Lava Tower, your route will head down by almost 680m to the Barranco camping. This is the day where you will follow the principle of climb high and sleep low.

Day 12: Barranco Acclimatization

Today you will acclimatize, that is, climb high and sleep low coupled with rest and relaxation, as well as enjoy the serene environment by walking around the surroundings.

Day 13: Barraco Camp- Kibo Hut (4700m) - Mweka Hut

After breakfast depart Barraco camp for Kibo hut, which will include trekking up to the Great Barraco wall, then trek downwards towards Kibo hut. After a short break at Kibo hut, you will descend to Mweka Hut.

Day 14: Mweka Hut- Mweka Gate (1400m)

Early morning after breakfast descend through the forest as you enjoy the fresh morning aura, and after a four hour trek reach Mweka Gate. You will then drive to Arusha as you have packed lunch, arriving in Arusha late afternoon, check-in at Oasis Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 15: Departure- Kilimanjaro International Airport

After breakfast at the Oasis Lodge, you will depart for Kilimanjaro International Airport for your next destination.

13 Days/12 Nights: Best of Kenya Wildlife Camping Adventure Safari


Highlights: This is a budget camping adventure which starts from Nairobi and ends in Nairobi. You will be visit Maasai Mara from Nairobi then proceed to Nakuru National Park and then to Samburu National Park. You will stay in tents or Guest houses at the various campsites within the Maasai Mara National Reserve, Nakuru National Park and Amboseli and Tsavo west National Parks.

Itinerary:

Day 1: Nairobi - Maasai Mara
On arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, or if you are staying in a Nairobi City Hotel, our tour manager will meet you and brief you on your safari, and thereafter depart for the Maasai Mara Game Reserve with stops at the viewpoint of the Great Rift Valley and Narok town for lunch and refueling. Arrive in time for a late afternoon / early evening game drive en-route to a campsite for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Maasai Mara
Early breakfast then proceed for a full day of game viewing in the reserve with a break for picnic lunch at the hippo pool. Return to the campsite for dinner and overnight.

The Maasai Mara, now The New 7the wonder of the world and 4th preferred tourist destination in the world is a home to wildlife in such abundance and variety that it is difficult to imagine. The most spectacular event of the natural world takes place here; the annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti (Tanzania) in search of water and pasture.

Take the opportunity to fly over the Mara in a Hot air Balloon provided at an extra cost. The balloon package includes a champagne breakfast in the wild! If you can spare the money, viewing abundant game afloat a balloon is an unforgettable experience.


Day 4: Maasai Mara - Nakuru

After breakfast, depart the Mara region for Nakuru. The drive offers panoramic views of Mount Longonot and Lake Naivasha from afar; thus able to see them from the main highway. Arrive at Nakuru in time for dinner and overnight at a campsite.

Lake Nakuru National Park is home to millions of fuchsia pink flamingoes, the fish eating pelicans as well as over 450 other species of birds. It is also a good location for game viewing, including the black rhino, the lion, and the waterbuck as well as other antelopes. It is one of the best places to see the leopard as well as the endangered Rothschild Giraffes. Although the main attraction to the park is the pink flamingos, you will also get to see plenty of giraffes, waterbucks and other game.

Day 5: Lake Nakuru / Amboseli via Nairobi
Wake up to an early morning game viewing drive in Lake Nakuru National Park where you will see numerous Flamingos and other water birds that thrive in a salt-water. After breakfast, drive to Amboseli via Nairobi arriving in time for lunch in one of the restaurants in Nairobi. Continue to Amboseli via Kenya/Tanzania border (Namanga) arriving in Amboseli in the late afternoon. Go for an evening game viewing drive. Dinner and overnight at a campsite.

Day 6 & 7: Amboseli National Park

Amboseli is famous for its huge elephant herds. Africa’s highest mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro sits in the upper slopes of Amboseli national park. Mt Kilimanjaro snow white peaks les across the border of Tanzania. Seeing Kilimanjaro hovering above the clouds in the early hours of the morning is quite an experience. For an enthusiastic photographer, animal pictures arising against the dramatic backdrop of the mountain is quite a thrill. Apart from the elephants, buffalos, black /rhino and other plain animals are in plenty.

Day 8: Amboseli - Tsavo West National Park
After breakfast, depart Amboseli for Tsavo West National Park, lunch enroute. Arrive in the afternoon, and then proceed for a game viewing drive. Dinner and overnight at a campsite

Tsavo West National Park is fascinating for its Shetani Lava flows, which the residents believed was the work of the devil, hence its name, which means devil in Swahili. The Mzima Springs which contain 20 million tones of crystal - clear water from the underground streams of the nearby Chyulu Hills are an additional attraction; various aspects of marine life including hippos, crocodile and fish can be seen from the specially constructed underground glass tank. The animal species seen at Tsavo are hippo, crocodiles, elephant, gazelle, zebra, giraffe, various birds, buffalo, and kudu in a thick acacia setting.

Day 9: Tsavo East National Park.

Spend the day game viewing while taking photos with a picnic lunch en-route and also stand a chance of having a view of the famous Mt. Kilimanjaro. Return to lodge at dusk for rest. Dinner and overnight at a campsite

Day 10: Tsavo East National Park - Mombasa

Early morning game viewing drive before dawn, return to the lodge for breakfast, and thereafter depart the park for Mombasa arriving in time for lunch at the Mombasa Beach Hotel. After lunch, spend the afternoon at leisure as you enjoy the hotels facilities such the swimming pool and floodlit tennis court, alternatively relax and unwind under the hotel’s tropical gardens as you enjoy the aura and perfect shade in the heat of the day. Dinner and overnight at Mombasa Beach Hotel or similar

Day 11: Mombasa.
Today spend the morning exploring Mombasa Town, as well as Mombasa's old town, which brings out the traditional cultures of the Swahili people, such as its narrow shaded streets, the renowned Fort Jesus, also dominates the area. Have lunch in Mombasa Town, and thereafter return to the beach hotel for an afternoon of beach adventure and recreation as the tropical beach overlooks the hotel. Dinner and overnight at Mombasa Beach Hotel or similar

One spectacular attraction in the old town of Mombasa is the rich cultural heritage; the unique character being the collection of historical buildings dating from the 18th century which combines African, European and Arabic influences. Many of these buildings still exist, in beautifully carved doors as well as elegantly styled balconies. The area is inhabitated by a diverse and co-existing group of communities for many years; the locals have co-existed with the Arabs, Portuguese, Asians and the British, all their distinct characters and cultures have together come to define this old town.

Day 12: Mombasa.
After breakfast, spend the day engaging in water sports at the beach, which will include water surfing, sailing, wind surfing and Safe Ocean swimming, alternatively, swim in the superb all weather swimming pool in the hotel. Have lunch in the hotel, and then spend the afternoon at leisure.

Day 13: Mombasa – Nairobi- Departure.
After breakfast, spend the morning at the beach or alternatively go to Mombasa Town for shopping and engage in other leisurely activities, have lunch in Mombasa Town and thereafter return to the hotel where you will check-out and be transferred to Moi International Airport for your flight back to Nairobi.

6 Days/ 5 nights: Wilderness Adventure safari

Day 1: Nairobi Safari Walk
Depart to Nairobi Safari Walk, which is a perfect combination of forests, wetlands and Savannahs. Have lunch at the Rangers restaurant, where you will get a perfect of wild animals grazing and drinking water while enjoying your meal. Dinner and overnight at Fairview Hotel.

Nairobi Safari Walk is a conservation-cum-education facility that has been developed from the former Animal Orphanage. Eleven hectares of land have been set aside for the construction of this facility in order to give visitors a sample of Kenya’s rich bio-diversity. In other words, to set the standards of conservation education in Kenya. The site also serves as KWS centre for development of education materials.

Day 2: Nairobi – Maasai Mara
Early morning departure for the Maasai Mara National Game Reserve, stopping at the viewpoint of the Great Rift Valley. Arriving in time for lunch, thereafter proceed for a late afternoon game viewing drive till dusk in the park, which is essentially the northern extension of Tanzania’s Serengeti National Reserve as an artificial border only separates the two. Dinner and overnight at a campsite (permanent pitched tents).

Day 3: Masai Mara
Early breakfast followed by a full day of game viewing drives within the reserve with packed lunch. Dinner and Overnight at campsite (permanent pitched tents)

Masai Mara is the best place to see wildlife in Kenya. It is at the Mara that you will see "The Big Nine”. The so-called "Big Five" are Buffalo, Elephant, Leopard, Lion and Rhinoceros. The "Big Nine" extends this to include Cheetah, Zebra, Giraffe and Hippo. The vast grassland plains of Maasai Mara are scattered with herds of Zebra, Giraffe, Gazelle, and Topi. Elephants and Buffalo wallow in the wide Musiara Swamp.


Day 4: Masai Mara – Nairobi - Amboseli
Early morning, pre breakfast game viewing drive. Return to the camp for breakfast. After breakfast and your last game drive, depart the Maasai Mara for Amboseli through Nairobi with lunch being served at the Famous Carnivore Restaurant, arriving at Amboseli in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight at the camp

Amboseli National Park is renowned for its huge elephant herds. Africa’s highest Mountain – Mt Kilimanjaro sits on the upper slopes of Amboseli National park. Seeing the Kilimanjaro hovering above the clouds in the early hours of the morning is quite an experience. For the enthusiastic photographer, animal pictures arising against the dramatic backdrop of the mountain is quite a thrill. Apart from the Elephants, Amboseli is a home to; buffalos, black rhinos, zebras, wildebeest and other plain animals.

Day 5: Amboseli - Tsavo west
Early morning, pre breakfast game viewing drive. Return to the camp for breakfast. After breakfast and your last game drive, proceed to Tsavo West National Park with game viewing as you travel through the park arriving ready for lunch at the Ngulia campsite. After lunch, at 1600 hours, you will proceed with Game viewing drives till dusk. Return back to your camp

At Tsavo west you will be treated to some game viewing. Residents of Tsavo West National Park include: elephants, crocodiles, vervet monkeys, antelope, baboons, giraffes, hippos and lions. The park is a marvel in terms of geo-physical character and plant diversity. Mzima Springs, the source of Mombasa’s water, is located here. These springs are recharged daily with hundreds of millions of litres of crystal clear water by underground streams emanating from Chyulu Hills. At Mzima, all sorts of animals gather for a drink particularly in the dry season. You may also be able to view hippo and crocodiles from the underwater glass tank.

Day 6: Tsavo East - Mombasa
Morning game viewing in Tsavo East National Park. Tsavo East National park was once famous for its great herds of elephants. It still has these beasts, usually covered in red soil. A variety of game and fine scenery will be seen as we visit the Lugard falls, Mudanda rocks and the Aruba dam. Lunch enroute before you depart for Mombasa arriving in the evening to check in at Sun N Sand Beach Resort.

Budget Wildlife Camping Safari- 5 Days / 4 Nights


Trip highlights: Being a five day safari, the trip will take you through Tsavo East National Park, which is a unique landscape because of the Yatta Plateau formed from the lava that oozed from Ol Doinyo Sabuk Mountain. Thereafter cross over to Tsavo West National Park, home to Mzima Springs, where water that has filtered underground from the Chyulu Hills gushes from below forming a series of spectacular clear pools, then finally proceed to the Amboseli National Park, which boasts of a number of major attractions which include the renowned Mt. Kilimanjaro. You will stay in camps and travel in a 4x4 tour minibus plus your tour guide or driver.

Day 1: Nairobi – Arrival
Upon arrival at Moi International airport, you will be welcomed by our tour manager who will then brief you of the trip; you will then be transferred to Fairview hotel for lunch and overnight

Day 2: Nairobi- Tsavo East National Park
After breakfast, proceed to Tsavo East National Park stopping for lunch at Tsavo Inn in Mtito Andei. After lunch proceed to Tsavo East National Park, arriving in the late afternoon. Go for an afternoon game drive till dusk. Dinner and overnight at the Satao Camp

There are many interesting aspects in the open areas of Tsavo East not least the spine of the Yatta Plateau, one of the world's longest lava flows. An additional attraction is the Athi River flanked by stately doum palms which, near the Manyani gate forms the Lugard Falls, a long stretch of rippling white water cataracts and a favorite haunt for sunbathing crocodiles. Lugard Falls gush through a small fissure, narrow enough for the foolhardy to leap across, before dropping to Crocodile Point below, where the river changes its name to the Galana.

Day 3: Tsavo East National Park- Tsavo West National Park
Today cross over to the Tsavo West National Park and have an afternoon game drive and check in at the Ngulia Safari lodge.

Tsavo West Park is a vast expanse of savannah stretching from Mtito Andei, along the Mombasa – Nairobi road south to the Tanzania border. The north eastern boundary along the highway adjoins Tsavo east National park but Tsavo west has more varied topography and more diverse array of habitats than its neighbour.

Day 4: Tsavo West National Park- Amboseli National Park
Early morning game viewing drive before dawn, return to the Camp for breakfast, and then proceed to Amboseli National Park; while enjoying the scenic beauty en-route thus arriving in time for lunch. After lunch go for an afternoon game drive.

Amboseli National Park is famous for being the best place in Africa to get close to free-ranging elephants. Other attractions of the park include opportunities to meet Maasai and spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest free-standing mountain in the world. Dinner and overnight at the Sentrim Lodge or Similar

Day 4: Amboseli National Park– Nairobi
Have a pre breakfast game drive which will include going up to the famous Mzima Springs, then after breakfast, depart for Nairobi and drop off at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your next destination.
End of safari.
