Itinerary:

Day 1: Nairobi- Sagana - Nairobi
After breakfast, we will receive you from your Nairobi hotel or residence. Thereafter, depart for the Sagana Aquaculture project passing through the pineapple farms of Thika Delmonte Pineapple farms arriving in time for your tour of the farm before going for lunch, thereafter proceed for an afternoon visits to the nearest fish farmers fish ponds in the neighbourhood. You will return to Nairobi for dinner and over night at your hotel or Residense. Dinner and Overnight at your hotel or Residence.

Day 2: Nairobi - Kisumu - Yala Swamp (Dominion Farms)
After an early breakfast, we will receive you from your Nairobi hotel or residence. Thereafter, depart for Jomo Kenyatta International airport for Kisumu City by flight arriving at about 8.am ready for your tour of Lake Basin Development fish breeding farms at Mamboleo. You will then visit this farm and talk to the Management of the project before visiting Yala swamp - the Dominion Farm where you will meet the Fisheries Manager who will take you for a tour of the aquaculture farm project at this new modern farm in Nyanza province, Siaya district Alego Usonga constituency. You will have your packed lunch served at the farm. After lunch, you will meet the management of the Dominion Farm for any questionnaires. Return to Kisumu city for your Dinner and Overnight at Sunset Hotel or Kisumu Hotel.

Day 3: Kisumu -Yala Swamp (Dominion Farm) - Nairobi
After breakfast, you will depart for Yala swamp to visit the Dominion Farm where you will meet the Fisheries Manager who will take you to various Fish Farmers farms where he will have sold the fingerlings for breeding. In this project, Cat fish and Tilapia is bread and sold to the farmers in Kenya and Uganda and some cross the lake into Tanzania. You will visit these farms for you to see the developments of Aquaculture projects around Lake Victoria. You will eventually return to Kisumu for your evening flight back to Nairobi.

Aquaculture safaris in Central and Western Kenya – 7 Days / 6 Nights

Highlights: This tour takes you to Kenya's aquaculture places where fishes are breeding ready for translocation to various fishing ponds of fish farmers. You will start with a visit to Sagana fish breading Aquaculture project, then proceed to Kisumu's Lake basin Aquaculture farm, then proceed to Yala Swamps aquaculture project at the delta of river Yala Dominion farm project before visiting the fish farmers farms around lake Victoria. You will sum your tour with a visit to Moi University College (fisheries department) where you will visit the Aquaculture project there.

Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival -Nairobi
On arrival at the Nairobi's Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met by our tour manager who will brief you on your safari before transferring you to your hotel for overnight stay. (We assume that you will arrive in the afternoon). Dinner and Overnight at Fair View Hotel.

Day 2: Nairobi -Sagana
After breakfast, we will receive you from your Nairobi hotel. Thereafter, depart for the Sagana Aquaculture project passing through the pineapple farms of Thika Delmonte Pineapple farms arriving in time for your tour of the farm before going for lunch, thereafter proceed for an afternoon visits to the nearest fish farmers fish ponds in the neighbourhood. You will return to Nairobi for dinner and over night at your Fair view hotel. Dinner and Overnight at Fair View Hotel.

Day 3: Nairobi - Kisumu
After an early breakfast, we will receive you from your Nairobi hotel. Thereafter, depart for Jomo Kenyatta International airport for Kisumu City by flight arriving at about 8.am ready for your tour of Lake Basin fish breeding farms at Mamboleo. You will then visit this farm and talk to the Management of the project before visiting the local farmers fish ponds in the vicinity. Lunch will be served at your hotel in Kisumu. After lunch, proceed to visit the other fishing ponds around Kisumu city till dusk. Dinner and Overnight at Kisumu Sunset Hotel.

Day 4: Kisumu -Yala Swamp (Dominion Farm)
After breakfast, you will depart for Yala swamp to visit the Dominion Farm where you will meet the Fisheries Manager who will take you for a tour of the aquaculture farm project at this new modern farm in Nyanza province, Siaya district Alego Usonga constituency. You will have your packed lunch served at the farm. After lunch, you will meet the management of the Dominion Farm for any questionnaires. Return to Kisumu city for your Dinner and Overnight at Sunset Hotel.

You will eventually return to Kisumu for dinner your overnight stay. Dinner and Overnight at Kisumu Sunset Hotel.

Day 6: Kisumu-Moi University College (Fisheries Department)
After breakfast, you will depart for Moi University in Eldoret where you will visit the Fisheries Aquaculture Project and have a discussion with the Management of this college project. Lunch will be served in the College Restaurant or at the Eldoret Town Restaurant. You will then drive back to Kisumu for your dinner and overnight stay at the sunset hotel.

Day 7: Kisumu -Nairobi -Departure
After breakfast, depart for the Kisumu Airport for your flight to Nairobi arriving at about 9.30 am ready for your city tour and Lunch at the famous Carnivore Restaurant before being dropped at the Jomo Kenyatta international airport for your departure flight.
