History

The Karen Blixen coffee garden is located in Karen, a lovely suburb of Nairobi. It is on the original estate of the African coffee company and houses the historic swedo house which was built around1908.

This house was the firm managers house for the Blixen coffee plantation bought by bror Blixen for his wife, Karen Blixen, it has been fully restored   to its historic glory with photos of the original settlers. It is one of the few historic houses in Kenya where you can dine and relive the out of Africa experience.

The coffee gardens have 15 unsuited luxury cottages with large bathrooms. Each has fireplace, phone, TV and high sped internet connection. The cottages verandahs overlook the gardens and a pool. The pool bar is also available for cottages guest.
