Trip highlights: Being a fourteen day safari, your exciting trip will begin in Nairobi; Nairobi National Museum, The Giraffe Center, followed by Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, then Lewa Downs, where most endanged species have been conserved, you will then travel to Maasai Mara, for an extraordinary wildlife safari, proceed to Tanzania’s Ngorongoro Conservation, one of the fourth wonders of the world and Serengeti National Park, the Largest park in Tanzania, home to the vast numbers of the King of the Jungle, the Lion. You will stay in hotels and tented camps and travel with a 4x4 tour minibus with your driver/guide.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival- Nairobi
Upon arriving in Nairobi at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met and welcomed by our tour manager who will then brief you on your safari, thereafter you will be driven to Serena Hotel where you will check-in and have an early lunch. (We assume that you arrive by the morning flight). After lunch proceed to the Nairobi Museum, where you will see extraordinary collections of history, culture and art from Kenya and East Africa, such as Mammalian Radiation. Then proceed to Giraffe Center, where you will not only see the Giraffes but also feed them, as you have a leisurely stroll into the its Forest Nature Trail. Dinner and overnight stay at Nairobi Serena Hotel

Day 2: Nairobi Serena Hotel – The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust

After breakfast, take a morning walk to the Central Park which overlooks the Hotel, where you enjoy the serene aura of the park. Return to the hotel for your trip to the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, a special organization geared towards helping save the lives of orphaned Elephants and Rhinos which after recuperating are ultimately released back into the wild. Afterwards, proceed to Karen Blixen Museum, famous for the release of the movie, “Out of Africa” and for sure, you will have an Out of Africa experience. After the marvelous tour, you will depart the museum for lunch at a Famous Carnivore restaurant before proceeding to the hotel for rest.

The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust incorporates an Elephant Nursery, overseen by Dr. Daphne Sheldrick, and for the first time ever now offers hope for any orphaned elephant fortunate enough to be found alive, which recuperate and are released back into the wild. It took Daphne Sheldrick 28 years of trial and error during the years that her husband was Warden of Kenya's largest elephant Sanctuary, Tsavo East National Park, to perfect the ideology necessary to rear the orphaned infant African elephants. Today, the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust is proud to have saved what amounts to a herd; over 60 orphaned infant calves that would otherwise have perished. More importantly, every one of these orphans can look forward to a quality of life which entails, living free in Tsavo East National Park encompassed by their new extended orphaned family and friends amongst the wild. Day 3: Nairobi - Lewa Downs by Flight
After breakfast, you will depart the hotel for Lewa Downs by flight taking 45 minutes from Wilson Airport. Have lunch and go for an afternoon game viewing drive along the plains of the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy in Lewa Downs till dusk. Dinner and overnight at Lewa Safari Camp

Day 4: Lewa Downs.
Before dawn we head out in search of Africa’s plain wildlife. From the game drive we return to the camp for breakfast and rest and relaxation, have an early lunch before heading out again on your afternoon game drive till dusk.All meals and overnight at Lewa Safari Camp

Day 5: Lewa Down- Maasai Mara by flight
Early morning pre breakfast game viewing drive, return to the camp for breakfast, and thereafter depart the Lewa Downs for Maasai Mara by flight arriving in time for lunch. After lunch, proceed for a late afternoon game viewing with the aid of a guide till dusk. Dinner and overnight at Kichwa Tembo Camp

Day 6: Maasai Mara
Today spend a full day viewing and exploring the magnificent and scenic game reserve, where you may have the chance to see all the big five in addition to the numerous bird life found in the reserve. You will then stop for an early picnic lunch and proceed with the drive till dusk.Dinner and overnight at Kichwa Tembo Camp

The Mara reserve is quite a place to be, as it offers out of the ordinary adventure, from the crafty hyenas, which may be heard laughing at night to the variety of wildlife species facilitative of its diverse fauna, as well as an abundance of crocodiles and hippos in the Mara River. The banks of the rivers are covered in thick forest which is gradually makes way for bush and grassland thus the excellent availability of food for the diverse wildlife.

Day 7: Maasai Mara.
Early breakfast followed by a morning game viewing drive within the reserve with packed lunch. After lunch, go for a visit to the Maasai villages for a while, where you will be able to see and learn their various cultures and their special relationship with wildlife at the Mara and how they co-exist coupled with song and dance. After the visit, go for a late afternoon game drive till dusk.Dinner and overnight at Kichwa Tembo Camp

The Maasai some of whom share the Mara Region are a semi-nomadic cattle rearing community with a fascinating culture who regard themselves not just as residents of this area but that they are as much a part of the life of the land as the land is part of their lives. Being nomads, their life-style depend entirely on cattle thus their special relationship with cattle. Traditionally, the Maasai rarely hunt and living alongside wildlife in harmony is an important part of their beliefs. Lions and Wildebeest play as important a role in their cultural beliefs as their own herds of cattle. This unique co-existence of man and wildlife makes this Maasai land one of the world’s most unique wilderness regions.

Day 8: Maasai Mara- Nairobi by flight
Early morning game drive in the reserve in search of Kenya’s wildlife, after breakfast; depart the reserve for Nairobi by flight, which will take 45 minutes. Check-in at Nairobi Serena Hotel for rest and relaxation, you will then spend the rest of the afternoon at leisure.All meals and overnight at Nairobi Serena Hotel

Day 9: Nairobi- Ngorongoro, Tanzania
After breakfast at the Hotel, you will depart the Hotel for your trip to Ngorongoro via a shuttle bus which will be waiting to drive you to our neibour country Tanzania. Shortly you will drive south towards Arusha as you enjoy the scenic beauty of Kenya’s and Tanzania’s fields and grasslands, arriving in Arusha in time for lunch where you will be met by our tour manager. After Lunch proceed to Serena Hotel in Ngorongoro, book and leave you belongings, then go for an afternoon game drive at Ngorongoro Conservation.Dinner and overnight Ngorongoro Serena lodge / Crater lodge

Day 10: Ngorongoro
After breakfast, spend a full day game drive viewing and visit other attractions such as the Ngorongoro Crater, renowned for its diverse wildlife population such as the king of the jungle, the Lion, Leopard, Hyena and a variety of birds. You will have a picnic lunch at Olduvai Gorge.Dinner and overnight Ngorongoro Serena lodge / Crater lodge

Ngorongoro Conservation is one of the four wonders of the world, a place where the first human being started life. It is known to be perhaps the only place in Tanzania and in Africa where wildlife and human co-existence is evident in the conservation. The Olduvai Gorge and is another famous attraction in Ngorongoro, home to the first human footprints.

Day 11: Ngorongoro- Serengeti National Park
Early morning game drive viewing before dawn, which includes going up to the Shifting Sand attraction, where the sand is known to shift to an amazing distance of 17 metres, followed by a brief visit to the Maasai villages, where you can make a comparison between the Kenyan and Tanzanian Maasai Community and their cultures. Have packed lunch then proceed to Serengeti National Park Dinner and overnight at Seronera Lodge / Sopa Lodge

Day 12: Serengeti National Park
Today, spend the day looking for wildlife and in particular the Lion, which are in plenty in the park. You will have packed lunch. Dinner and overnight at Seronera Lodge / Sopa Lodge

Serengeti National Park is the leading park in terms of wildlife numbers in Tanzania, and is the second largest in Africa after Kruger National park in South Africa. More than 3 million wildlife species live in this park. The park is also renowned for the great wildebeest migration to Kenya, with a distance of up to 40 kilometers between the first and the last wildebeest.

Day 13: Serengeti National Park- Arusha
Early morning game viewing drive before dawn, return to the Camp for breakfast, and then depart the park for Arusha where you will be transferred to Karama Lodge and SPA. Have lunch at the lodge and thereafter spend the afternoon at leisure before your departure to Nairobi the following day. All meals and overnight at Karama Lodge and SPA

Day 14: Arusha - Nairobi.
Depart the Lodge for Arusha International Airport for your next destination.

End of Safari

4 Days/ 3 Nights: Maasai Mara Flying Safari

Trip highlights: this is a three day flying safari that will take you to Maasai Mara, the most spectacular game reserve in Kenya, you will stay in a mid-range lodge for the duration of your safari and travel in a 4x4 tour minibus with your driver/guide.

Day 1: Nairobi-Masai Mara
On arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met and welcomed by our tour manager who will then brief you on your safari, as you depart for Wilson Airport for your flight to the Maasai Mara, one arrival at the Mara, you will be met by our tour guide, briefed on your safari there after be transferred to Mara Simba lodge or similar. Have lunch at the lodge, and then proceed for an afternoon game viewing drive. All meals and overnight at Mara Simba Lodge or similar

Day 2: Masai Mara Game Reserve
Early morning game drive before dawn game viewing drive, return to the lodge for breakfast, and proceed for another game drive. Picnic lunch offered at the hippo pool. After lunch, go for an afternoon game drive, till dusk. All meals and overnight at Mara Simba Lodge or similar

The Mara is one unique reserve that Kenya boosts of, fauna such as the lion, cheetahs, wild dogs, jackals, hyenas and vultures done the reserve, Additionally, over 450 species of birdlife have been recorded here, such as African pygmy-falcon, vultures, marabou stork, hornbill, crowned crane, ostrich, long-crested Eagle, and secretary bird.

Day 3: Masai Mara Game Reserve
Today spend the morning game viewing, including going up to the Mara River, have lunch which will be packed, in the afternoon visit the Maasai villages.

The Maasai have a fascinating culture; starting from their dress code, the color red is known to scare away wild animals as they co-exist with them, this unique co-existence makes this Maasai land one of the world’s most unique wilderness regions. A Maasai Homestead (enkang popularly known as the Manyattas) is made from cow dung and wooden sticks from the leleshwa plant. Women are the ones responsible for putting up these magnificent homes. However, a homestead contains several Maasai houses which are surrounded by a fence made also by branches of the leleshwa plant where the herds of goats and cows are confined in during the night hours. There are other Manyattas made far away in the wilderness during their Morans as they prepare their headset, the motonyik, before they return home. They regard themselves not just as residents of this area but that they are as much a part of the life of the land as the land is part of their lives.

Day 4: Maasai Mara- Nairobi.
Pre- breakfast game viewing drive, then depart the lodge for the airstrip in Maasai Mara for your flight to Wilson Airport, where upon arrival, you will be transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your next destination.
Cost of Safari: US$ 2000 per person sharing.
